Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who were both lawyers. When she was five, she moved to Oxfordshire where she studied at the Dragon School. Emma was six years old when she made the decision to become an actress. She trained for several years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part time theatre school in Oxford in which she learned acting and singing. The actress had performed in numerous Stagecoach as well as school plays by the time she turned ten. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the film version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was first cast in 1999. Emma was spotted by Emma's Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman told Emma along together with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after they all had 8 consecutive auditions. Emma's first cinematic appearance was in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. The film broke records for the opening day sales as well as opening week-end take-offs as well as being the most-grossing feature in 2001. The film was praised by critics who praised the film, and especially those who were young. The well-known British paper The Daily Telegraph called her performances admirable. Emma was awarded the Young Artist Award as the leading young actress in a Feature Film. Emma was nominated five times for her performance in the movie.
